Business Strategies for a New World

naked

For background on how Jeff and Nate developed this idea, check out yesterday’s class assignment.  The quick synopsis: we gave the class an hour to create as much value only using post-it notes.  Nate and Jeff really took the “only use post-it notes” part to the fullest.

From the Alligator: “Seniors Nate Stein, right, and Jeff Goetz, left, stand on Turlington Plaza Wednesday wearing underwear and Post-its for their Digital Frontiers class. Students donated $1 to victims of the earthquake in Haiti by sticking a Post-it note somewhere on Stein’s and Goetz’s bodies.”

Thanks to Juliana Jimenez who took this wonderful photo!

My question is, who is footing the bill for this wonderful idea? Do you guys plan on paying up and sending a total of what, maybe $30 to people in Haiti? Just questioning the plausibility of this idea…

Hi Laran – To rectify both your (and my mother’s) fear – both Jeff and Nate were not asking for money while in Turlington. They were simply asking people write messages to stick on their bodies. Some people did hand them a donation and this money will be sent to a charity currently working in Haiti – I’m making sure of it.

Update: According to Nate’s Facebook that Charity is the Clinton-Bush Haiti fund and they will be in Turlington again today from 12 – 3 PM.

Guess the reporter got it wrong. What was the point of having people stick notes to you guys if it didn’t do anything?

The same purpose of your project – create value using only Post-It notes in an hour. The initial value was awareness. As time went on, people were so moved they began to give money – unsolicited.

Today, the amount awareness raised by having a frontpage picture reminding people to help Haiti is huge.
