Lets start with the basic googling of my name, Laran Stover. I thought about throwing in my middle name but decided against it. The results for my name are pretty accurate. Besides the author results, all of the links are about me. The first link to pop up is that of my high school softball career. Definitely not something I am ashamed of, but something most employers probably wouldn’t look at. Another result is that of a scholastic art award I received, by itself, maybe not that interesting. There is yet another link about a science fair award I received. Lastly, there is a link to a site documenting all of the traveling I have done. All of these results may not seem interesting alone, however, together they demonstrate what a well rounded person I am.
Figuring out the second google search was a bit harder. I couldn’t think of anything that I would truly want to be associated with. I am not ashamed of anything that I have done in my lifetime, but I couldn’t pick just one think that I would want future employers to associate me with. In the end I had to go with “Laran Stover honors student” because my academic achievements are what I am most proud of. In that search, my art and science award results both popped up, again demonstrating my well rounded interests.
Overall I was very happy with the google results of my name. Nothing embarrasing or out of the ordinary came up and I feel that I was very well represented.
