Business Strategies for a New World

Red MouseAs the world moves further and further into a technological enchantment, people are quickly catching on. As various presentations warn “outsiders” to jump on the symbolic bandwagon, we cannot forget about the current successes of our population in terms of technological trust and capability. The people of the world have found ways to fall in love through wires, computer screens and microchips. While porn still maintains a significant amount of internet users, the population is finding a sexier, more appropriate way to communicate. With such websites as match.com and eharmony, the romantic lovers of today have become technologically efficient: now that is sexy. To be honest, if I met a girl who doesn’t have a Facebook, I might be slightly turned off. Either way, my point is relatively simple: the world has gained a sexy change of attitude with internet communication… serendipity  for all who venture into the mysterious world of the internet.

The two presentations validate my previous point. The presentations themselves are innovative and sexy in nature. Connections are being made, and language adapts to a younger generation. As the group project begins, such a trend must continue. I’m eager to see what our group can do to help the UF Young Entrepreneurs for Leadership and Sustainability. Just like any business plan, it’s only one thing to establish a guideline for people to follow; the bigger challenge will be establishing some plan that the UFYE will follow after we are finished.

Technology is ok as an “accessory” but not as the driving force of friendships and relationships. Good olde fashion face to face communication–looking into the eyes right to their soul–can tell you more than words strategically crafted on a screen.

I am amazed by the ways that our society has found to communicate with each other. It is wonderful that people can find each other thru the “magic” of technology. Of course, finding possible matches is only the start. The next steps, which involve meeting, face to face, probably will pass the age old test of proving that it is this interaction that makes the difference in whether or not two people are meant for each other. I applaud those that are willing to step “out of the box” to find the right partners.
