Me at Zion Nation Park
My name is Jacob Rausch and I am a 4th year English major who is also minoring in Latin American studies (because I checked and happened to have almost all the requirements already). I enjoy photography and traveling, and plan to go backpacking through Europe this summer after I graduate. My background in technology is fairly basic – I know how to work with Windows and the usual websites (Facebook, Google, YouTube, etc). I chose to take this course because my father and uncle run a small business in Orlando, Colonial Photo & Hobby, where they have been trying to expand their online marketing and my hope is that this course will give me some tools that I can use to help them accomplish this (also, I need an upper level class outside my major). My favorite company is probably Olympus, which produces cameras and other kinds of optics. I like Olympus because they are constantly experimenting with new camera types and designs. They were one of the first companies to come out with a impact resistant camera that can function underwater and have come out with a new line of small SLR cameras.
